Happy Hell-o-ween

Happy Halloween from Inksurge HQ! Yesterday was a tense filled day, aside from the public storm signal #3 raised on Metro Manila, we won the Best Album Packaging for Sugarfree's "Mornings and Airports" @ the 14th NU 107 Rock Awards. Thanks to the band, their management, and the good folks from Polyeast Records (former EMI Records) - boss willie and ms. ethel. Also congratulations to Ebe Dancel for winning as best vocalist and to UpDharma Down for sweeping the 2009 Rock Awards. Here is the complete list of the results..

Sugarfree - Mornings and Airports

We can't wait for our complementary copies for the album Mornings and Airports by Sugarfree, so purchased one earlier! The printers did an excellent job on the packaging, the spot lamination and the pantone gold color on the cover, although the very thin lines on the cover and the inner pages was not printed well (due to the very thin strokes..) So here it is, you better purchase one to see it!

Sugarfree's new album was released last Monday (but we don't have copies yet hehe) so we are just posting some photos from the shoot and development of some elements we used for their new album entitled "Mornings and Airports". We wanted to come up with another memorable packaging for the band (like we did with Tala-Arawan), this time we played around with concept of creating a passport booklet with custom stamps and visa looking title pages. Before we landed on this concept, we met with the band and the management a few months ago with great ideas for the album, but time and budget for the production is always the enemy hehe, so we happily ended with this one.

We rush produced hand-made rubber stamps as part of the elements to be used inside the booklet of the album. We created passport stamps for Sugarfree's most memorable gigs/locations for the past 10 years
